St Stephens Green

Dublin
St. Stephen’s Green is located right in the heart of Dublin city and probably the most famous Victorian park in Ireland.

Covering over 22 acres of land it is a very popular spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life whilst remaining in the city centre. This remarkable park is full of trees, flowerbeds, rockeries, shrubberies and even has a beautiful waterfall.

The most significant attractions within the park include the Yeats memorial garden, which contains a Henry Ford designed monument, a statue of Robert Emmet, a statue of Wolfe Tone and also a monument to the Great Famine. The Fusilier’s Arch honouring the Royal Dublin Fusiliers can also be found in the park.

The most extraordinary feature of the park is the garden for the blind. It is situated in the north west section of the park. Here you’ll find scented plants labelled in Braille.

North of the garden for the blind lies a lake, which is home to ducks and many other waterfowl. The lake is fed by an artificial waterfall and the water is sourced from the Grand Canal.
