This old fortress has a long and chequered history. Amongst other things it has been a parliamentary building, a Court of Justice, a residence for the British Royal family and a garrison for soldiers. Up until 1922 it was the official ruling point for the British, though now it’s a tourist attraction where various expositions, meetings and gigs take place. Take a walk beneath the castle where you’ll see the remnants of the moat and the ancient walls of Dublin.
