The Regency Hotel And Leisure Centre

The Regency Hotel & Leisure Centre has no end of dining options with two restaurants and a bar that serves pub grub.

Breakfast is served in the Shanard Restaurant and this is an extensive buffet breakfast with both continental and traditional Irish breakfasts on offer so you can help yourself - tea, coffee and toast is served to your table though. If you don't want to venture downstairs in the morning, you can have the continental breakfast delivered to your room.

The Shanard Restaurant is also open for lunch and dinner and even has a good value Early Bird Menu. The restaurant itself is really big (seating up to 250 people) with white table-cloths, chandeliers and soft lighting. It provides a fine dining choice that is best described as quite formal.

Seasons Restaurant is located next door to the hotel (actually you see the restaurant before you see the main reception) and along with its Early Bird Menu there's a good choice of international cuisine from it's a la carte menu. This restaurant is also open for Sunday lunches and regular jazz sessions are held here to help set a relaxed tone.

The Appian Lounge is the hotel's bar and is located just off the main corridor entrance beside the staircase. This place has a real traditional feel to it with low ceilings, loads of armchairs and bench-style seating. The bar is really long and takes up a corner of the room so you won't have to queue long for your pint.

This bar does get quite busy with both locals and guests so you can reserve a seat as it's particularly popular on Thursday and Saturday evenings as live entertainment is lead on.

Bar food is served from 12 noon to 8pm with a good choice on offer and there are TVs installed so you won't have to miss any of those big sporting events.

The hotel's leisure centre includes 16 metre swimming pool, children's pool, sauna, jacuzzi, feature pool, steam room, relaxation areas, core training studio and a fully equipped gym. The changing areas finished to a high standard with complimentary shampoo and shower gels. The leisure centre is open Monday to Friday from 6.30am - 9.30pm, Saturday and Sunday from 8.00am - 8.00pm and on Bank Holidays is open from 10.00am - 6.00pm.

All Guests must pay to use the Leisure Facilities here at the Regency Hotel. This will be charged as follows:

€10.00 Euro per Adult per Day €5.00 Euro per Child per Day

A pass must be purchased at the Hotel Reception prior to entering The Leisure Club.

There's also a 10,000 sq ft conference centre that can cater for up to 750 delegates theatre style or 600 for a banquet. The room can be divided into four separate rooms for smaller events. They also have a business centre with full secretarial support. Conference facilities include ISDN/Analog/Digital Lines, data projector, VHS/ DVD/ CD/Cassette player, digital projector, P.A. system, wide access doors, air conditioning, natural daylight in all rooms, professional technical assistance, competitive daily delegate rates and of course ample car parking.

The hotel has a concierge desk located at the bottom of the staircase, just as you come in the main entrance. The guy behind the desk was really, really helpful and he certainly knows his stuff when it comes to what to do in Dublin. He's there from 8am until 2pm everyday and will help to organise anything from day tours to taxis.

If you're driving to the Regency you won't have any worries about parking, as there are loads of spaces provided right around the hotel.

The Regency has one room with full wheelchair access and this includes a roll-in shower.
