The Gresham Hotel has a fantastic location in the heart of the city near its top attractions, shops, theatres bars and restaurants. It's situated beside the Savoy Cinema on Upper O'Connell Street - it really is a landmark in Dublin and nearly everyone who's been to the city remembers where it is.

Public Transport Links
Train - Connelly Train Station is the closest train connection to The Gresham Hotel. To get from the station to the hotel you can either walk or take a taxi. If you're on foot it'll take around 20 minutes or so. From the station head for the River Liffey. Walk past the Custom House onto Abbey Street following the tram lines. At the junction of Abbey Street and O'Connell Street take a right (away from the river). Keep going until you reach the hotel - it's just beside the Savoy Cinema.

If you're laden down with luggage you can get a taxi - the cost can vary depending on traffic.

Bus - Bus Aras is located opposite Connelly Station (check out the directions above from Connelly Station).

LUAS Tram - The Abbey Street tram stop is probably the closest and from here it's about an 8-minute walk to the hotel. From the tram stop walk to O'Connell Street. Head north down O'Connell Street (walking away from the River Liffey) and continue until you reach the hotel - it's right beside the Savoy Cinema.
How To Get From The Nearest Airport
The closest airport is Dublin International Airport which is about 12km away and there are a number of ways to get from the airport to The Gresham Hotel.

The easiest way to get from the airport is to use the Aircoach service. You'll find these outside the arrivals hall. A one-way fare costs around EUR7.00 and a return fare should cost around EUR12.00. The best bit - the aircoach stops outside the hotel so it couldn't be easier!

If you don't fancy getting on a bus with all your luggage, there's always the option of a taxi. Be prepared to fork out between EUR40.00 and EUR50.00 though!

How To Get To Dublin's Top Attractions
Because you're so centrally located, many of Dublin's major attractions are within walking distance of The Gresham Hotel.

Dublin's hop-on-hop-off bus tour is very popular and it's a great way to see the city at your own pace. The tour starts and finishes at 59 Upper O'Connell Street - almost directly across the street from the hotel. Once you buy the ticket it's valid for 24 hours.

The Customs House Visitor Centre is located on Customs House Quay. From the hotel walk towards O'Connell Bridge. At the junction with Abbey Street take a left. Continue to the end of the street where you'll see the Custom House on your right.

Open since 1991 the Dublin Writer's Museum pays tribute to some of the country's best writers. From the hotel turn right (walking away from the river). Cross Parnell Street and you'll find the museum on the north side of Parnell square.

The Book of Kells is housed in Trinity College - in the Old Library building to be precise. From O'Connell Bridge walk along West Moreland Street, you'll be able to see the college straight ahead, the entrance is to the right on Dame Street.

A relatively new attraction, though increasing in popularity, The Dublin Experience at Trinity College, a multi-media interpretation of the city.

Built in 1204 Dublin Castle has seen much of the city's history. It's very easy to get to, just follow directions to Dame Street (see above). Trinity College is at one end and Dublin Castle is at the other. The Chester Beatty Library is located adjacent to the gardens of Dublin Castle

The National Library of Ireland can be found on Kildare Street near Trinity College. From the college walk onto Nassau Street and Kildare Street is the second street on your right.

Ireland's Parliament Buildings which consist of Oireachtas House and Leinster House are also located on Kildare Street

The home of the National Gallery of Ireland is on Merrion Square West in Dublin 2. From Trinity College it's easy enough to get to. With your back to the entrance turn right onto Nassau Street. This street leads onto Leinster Street South and then onto Claire street. From here take the next right onto Merrion Square West.

For the thrills of Dublin's Viking Adventure you have to make your way to Essex Street. From O'Connell Bridge walk towoards Westmoreland Street. Take a right onto Fleet Street, at the end of which is Temple Bar Square - Essex Street is straight ahead.

Dublin's variety of shopping and entertainment areas are also only a short stroll away - you won't have to travel far as there are plenty of options on O'Connell Street.
