Location
It's all about location isn't it? The RiverHouse Hotel has it totally sussed, lying on Eustace Street in the middle of Temple Bar and all its trappings. The area is dominated by pubs and clubs so it does get really busy with revellers but it's a great place to sample the by now legendary establishments of Temple Bar.

By the way, there'll be something weird going on if you don't spot at least one hen or stag party!

River House Hotel, Dublin - Exterior
Public Transport Links
Train - If you're travelling to Dublin by train you'll arrive into either Heuston Station or Connelly Station so to get to The RiverHouse Hotel you need to either grab a taxi (quickest but not the cheapest!) or catch a bus to O'Connell Street.

Next, you walk across O'Connell Bridge to Westmoreland Street then bear right along College Green to reach Dame Street and look out for the cobble stones of Eustace Street on your right hand side. The hotel is the orange-coloured building directly opposite the Irish Film Centre.

Bus - There are absolutely loads of Dublin Bus stops located on Dame Street which will carry you to any part of Dublin! As you come out of the hotel, turn left and walk up to the top of Eustace Street to join Dame Street.

LUAS Tram - This really doesn't run close to the Temple Bar area of Dublin so it's not much use to you unless you make your way back into O'Connell Street or St. Stephens Green.

How To Get From The Nearest Airport
Dublin International Airport is roughly 12km away from the city centre and you'll be glad to know that there are a number of ways to get to the RiverHouse Hotel from here.

One of the most popular ways to get into the city is via Aircoach - come out of the arrivals hall, cross the zebra crossing and you'll see the Aircoach stop to your left. This service runs all the way into the city centre so hop off at Trinity College and then make your way to the hotel on foot (see public transport links above)

You can catch the Dublin Bus number 16A from outside the arrivals hall and this in turn travels all the way into the city centre.

Taxis are really easy to get from Dublin Airport - just follow the signs for taxis as you enter the arrivals hall. There's a taxi rank that is always well manned but the fare could range from between EUR30.00 to EUR40.00 - still it's probably the best option if you've a lot of luggage.

How To Get To Dublin's Top Attractions
They're all within a couple of minutes walk from the RiverHouse Hotel - honestly, you really are surrounded by the top sites of Dublin.

Apart from being in the centre of Temple Bar, as you come out of the hotel turn left and walk up Eustace Street to join up with Dame Street. From here, you can turn right and walk up to Lord Edward Street where you'll come across the Olympia Theatre, Dublin Castle, City Hall and then finally onto Christchurch Cathedral.

In fact, if you continue on past Christchurch Cathedral (keeping it to your right) and down onto Thomas Street, take a left for Crane Street then a right for Market Street and you've reached the world famous Guinness Storehouse.

On the other hand, when you join Dame Street turn left and walk along to College Green where you'll find Ireland's seat of learning and home of the Book of Kells - Trinity College.

At Trinity College, turn left to walk along Westmoreland Street and then across O'Connell Bridge where you'll discover the shopping districts of O'Connell Street, Henry Street, Jervis Street and of course the recent addition to Dublin's skyline, The Spire.

If you turn right at Trinity College you'll head in the direction of Grafton Street and St. Stephens Green where even more shopping awaits. By the way, look out for the Molly Malone Statue opposite Trinity, it's a great photo opportunity!

Before you reach Grafton Street, take a left for Nassau Street and this will lead down into one of Dublin's Georgian style areas where you can spend the day wandering from the National Gallery to the National Museum or even check out Leinster House, the home of the Irish government.
