Mount Herbert is a classical Georgian style hotel in a really elegant and much desired part of Dublin 4 known as Ballsbridge. Located just a stone’s throw from Lansdowne Road stadium, it’s a charming area with large beautiful terraces along the tree lined streets. Local transport connections are excellent with the DART rail system at your doorstep and a number of bus services running to the centre of town.

Upon entry it’s a smart and modernly decorated building in contrast with its very traditional and old-world exterior. The staff are a professional crowd who know everything about running a hotel – hardly surprising since the Mount Herbert has been around since 1860!

There are 172 bedrooms in total and they are modernly decked out and very spacious. The décor is simple but pretty comfortable and the en-suites are up to standard. You get a decent range of amenities – they’ve got all the creature comforts covered. There’s a classy and suave lounge with large quirky lights and sleek chairs, a more traditional style bar called the Tritonville and a European style brasserie where an a la carte menu is on offer using the freshest of Irish produce.

There’s a lovely leafy garden area where you can sit out with a drink or a bite to eat when the sun shines on the Fair City, and for the business traveller there are conference rooms and various other business services available.

To sum up it’s a very high quality hotel in one of Ireland’s most elite areas. You’re right in the middle of the embassy belt, close to Lansdowne Road stadium and a short journey from town, while the beautiful Dublin coast is just a 10 minute walk away.
