The Merrion Hotel is situated on Upper Merrion Street in Dublin 2.

It lies close to the Government buildings, the National Gallery and the National History Museum. It's within walking distance of St. Stephen's Green and Grafton Street.

If you are arriving at either Connolly or Hueston Railway Stations, then the best way to get to the hotel is to get a taxi.

By bus you can hop on numbers 5, 6, 7, 8, 44, 47, 47B, 48A, 62 which service Merrion Square.

To get to the hotel from Dublin International Airport, you can hop on the blue Aircoach, which you will find across the road from the Arrivals Hall. It leaves about every 15 minutes and costs €7 one way and €12 return. The Aircoach will drop you off at Merrion Square North, which is just around the corner from the hotel.

Alternatively, if you have a lot of luggage, you can get a taxi from the airport directly to the hotel. There is a taxi rank outside the Arrivals Hall.

When you stay at the Merrion Hotel, you will find yourself within walking distance of attractions like St. Stephen's Green, the National Concert Hall, and Grafton Street, a popular pedestrainised shopping street.

Just a few steps from the hotel, lies Merrion Square, a beautiful Georgian Square surrounded by Georgian buildings. The houses surrounding the square have have been homes to famous people like Oscar Wilde, William Butler Yeats and Daniel O' Connell. As you take a stroll through the park, you will also see a stature of Oscar Wilde lying on a rock.

Literally across the street from the hotel can be found a host of historical attractions namely Leinster House, the National Museum, the Hungenot Cemetery, the Natural History Museum and the National Gallery.

Continue to the end of Grafton Street to visit Trinity College where the Book of Kells in on display. Walk along Westmoreland Street and over O' Connell Brige to get to O' Connell Street, one of the widest streets in Europe. Here you will see The Spire, the G.P.O, a monument to Daniel O' Connell and Charles Stuart Parnell.

If you don't feel up to walking you can also opt for the Dublin City Hop-On Hop Off Bus Tour. The tour lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes if you don't get off, and it has over 20 stops. You can sit back and admire all that this city has to offer including attractions like Temple Bar, Dublin Castle, the Guinness Storehouse, Dublin Zoo, the Old Jameson Distillery and lots more.
