Ideally situated for the city centre, but the presence of a number of night clubs in the area meant that there was a lot of noise into the early hours of the morning. Otherwise the hotel was clean and tidy, and staff friendly and helpful.

The entrance lobby was a bit dull looking with a smell of stale beer. The lift was like riding a bucking broncho, but it did the job. There were two women at the reception desk, the one with whom I dealt was very helpful, friendly and like most people in Dublin nowadays, from the former Soviet Block. As well as the card for opening my room door, the receptionist rather surreally gave me a TV remote control, which is something I didn't expect. There must be a roaring black market in TV zappers, which is maybe what the 3 shootings were about on the day I was in Dublin. As regards the room, which was on the 3rd floor, this was perfectly acceptable. The bathroom perhaps had seen better days. The shower attachment on the bath was malfunctioning so I opted for a bath and there was no shortage of hot water. The stopper in the wash basin was from a bath which meant it was too big but with a little skill I could make it work. I read reviews of this hotel AFTER I booked the room and was in fear of the noise I would experience from the basement nightclub. Things cranked up a bit about 11pm but it wasn't bad. It sounded a lot better than the gunshots I heard around 10pm. At breakfast there was a big Dublinwoman serving the bangers and rashers; she probably moonlighted as a bouncer in the lightclub. PS: The TV zapper didn't work.

Had a brilliant holiday!

Staff were very helpful and accommodating as much as possible. Excellent value for money as the price for the night included entrance into the Nite Club and also breakfast. Will be staying there again!

Excellent stay, friendly staff. Rooms well appointed and comfortable.

The ensuite was very basic, and quite grubby.The shower in particular was ROASTING and there was no way to cool it.It is however a great venue if you are a party goer (which we were) as the disco on the premises played until the early hours.

The hotel rooms were small and in major need of re decoration. This is a very noisey hotel due to a live band playing in the pub and also a nightclub so you will get no sleep till at least 3a.m! My advice is stay away unless you really cannot get another hotel!

This was a very unpleasant experience for us. We were placed in a room which is next to the central heating ducts and consequently far too warm for comfort. Staff were unhelpful to the point of rudeness and failed even to apologise on each of the three occasions i complained. They found a small, ineffective fan, but readily admitted that this is a problem all guests placed in that room complain of. When I suggested that they should find a better solution to a problem they are so well aware of they seemed bemused. The room was clean but facilities are worn. there was no hot water on Sunday morning. Again, my complaint about this prompted no apology, just a lengthy explanation about the cause of the problem. I would not recommend this hotel and believe that I should have received a substantial refund.

The bar/club was excessively loud and the music and talking went on to 3:30am. They did try to make up for a bad first night by moving us to a very nice room in the new part of the hotel (on the 4th floor!) the noise was obnoxious. I would not recommend this hotel unless you can sleep through loud noise.

I stayed in room 1 for one night but the room was by far the nice room I have ever stayed in and I have often stayed in 5 star hotels.

Good friendly and realiable service.

Good location with easy access to town centre. Busy nightclub in basement but not a problem as our room was on the 3rd floor. Breakfast was excellent as was our overall stay.

Building was very run down & Dingy. Carpet in reception and stairwell was manky. No reception area as its used for the entrance to nite club....Rooms very small. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic but fresh.

i thought that the staff were excellent, the location close to st stephens green was also excellent.however the room we were in was a little shabby and the bath had the plastic lining peeling off. we did not complain because we were on the 3rd floor and away from the potential noise from their nightclub,which was still audible late at night

Very nicely decorated overall, with friendly and helpful staff and clean, bright rooms. Bar and nightclub make it easy to meet locals as well as fellow travellers.

The hotel is in an excellent location in Dublin.. Right in the old part of Georgian Dublin. If you travel at the weekend, please be aware that the nightclub underneath is extremely loud as are the people who queue outside. It is difficult to sleep.

I did not notice the hotel had a night club and would not have booked in if I was aware of the existance of such afacility. I left after the first night and they refused to refund me my second night's payment I found the person pretending to be manager (with such an aparant lack of ability I do not think amyone with the interest of their premises at heart would appoint such a person as manager. I intend questioning the planning logic of allowing two such competing facilities in the same building.

We requested a move from our first room as it was not suitable the next room was superb.

The Hotel notes that it also has a nightclub which operates every night, and that therefore some rooms may experience some noise. They also say they have done everything possible to soundproof the rooms, and offer earplugs. However, this woefully understates the problem. My room looked out over the club's garden terrace, and the persistent thud of the bass, clearly heard music, and loud chatter/laughter from the terrace were barely tolerable. No earplugs could have kept out the sound or, more importantly, the pulse vibrating up through the floor. The room had no discernible soundproofing. One should only stay at this hotel if they are planning to use the nightclub facilities, or are an extreme night owl.

Great location - nighclub a bit noisy but then the price was great

The staff are very nice and helpful. The nightclub was right under our room and was loud, but we knew this before we booked. It turned out to be not much of a problem because we usually stayed out late anyway. The upper floors of the hotel would probably be quiet enough for anyone. The breakfasts were delicious!

The lock to my door (Room 204) never functioned properly the whole time I was there. It meant 2 trips up and down the stairs on several occasions to gain access to my room and at no time was I offered an alternative secure room. The staff did make the trip up to my room several times with the black electronic key pad in order to open my door but that is still simple poor form! Even on the final morning, as I headed off to breakfast, I had to bang my door shut several times in order for the locking mechanism to engage - which then woke the occupants of the adjacent rooms. They were displeased - so an issue that affected me blossomed into an issue affecting more that one party on level 2. A good and sensible manager would have conveyed me to a similar room with a working secure locked door - but nothing! Not even a complimentary gesture. And the night security guard was extremely heavy hand with me upon my return to the hotel on the Tuesday evening. He was right in my face, very aggressive and demanding. Not a way to treat hotel guests. I shall be advising everyone to avoid Jackson Court Hotel. I had returned to the hotel from having visited family friends, for very pleasant dinner party and was treated like a vagrant. Whether I was returning at 10.00pm or 3.00am makes no difference - no one should be confronted by a surly door man - it was disgusting and conveys a nasty sinister ambiance. Obviously he assumed - which a person working in customer relations should never do! An open warm kindly welcome followed by a pleasant attempt to seek my requirements would be more professional - rather than a gruff - "Where are you going?"

the facility was great...until we walked into our room. Bathroom was in need of a good mildew cleaner. the nightclub in the basement, although convienient, was extremely noisy at 1:30-2:30am while people were leaving.

Great club in the hotel. Just enter the elevator and you are in your room.

The room was lovely, very nice (not the usual hotel decor), but lacking a dressing table, or mirror in the bedroom. There was no hot water for a shower at 9am on Sunday morning which was very poor, and the receptionist was very unconcerned, it ruined my overall impression of the hotel.

Never again !Impossible to sleep from about 12am onward until approximately 4am due to incredible noise from night club on ground floor. Bearing in mind I was on the 2nd floor. No thanks - never again.

The hotel was being renovated so there were workman all over it during the day , the room was smaller than we had hoped for and the enamel on the bath was peeling off. The staff were all very friendly and when on holiday we dont like to cause a fuss as our jobs are stressfull enough so complaining isnt very high on the agenda when we are away.

The room was absolutely beautiful. I had all the privacy i needed and the tv and coffee making facuilities were very adequate. I had a really lovely time.

What we didn't like was the noise made by the night club

The lift was down and I had to carry may bags up 3 flights of stairs. There are no non-smoking rooms and the night club is very loud. The bath room was very large and nice but the bed room part was not very nice.

Room was TINY, Could not get food after 5!! and the girl on reception was extremely unfriendly, i hated to ask her for anything.

One of my windows would not close and I simply could not shift it. I did not ask a member of staff to help as I had already changed into my nightware. However, the noise outside the hotel was dreadful and went on for hours.The fact that the window could not be shut didn't help matters. There was no hairdryer in the room and one of the drawers was broken. The staff were pleasant. There was an abundance of clean fresh towels and the beds were immaculate.

Service and facilities: Service was very poor and shamefully pathetic,on arrival i had difficulty opening my room door and so i asked for help at the reception desk, who didnot care to help me inspite of going to them 3 times from the top floor with my luggage, finally i was helped by my next room occupant. Secondly,there were 3-4 fake fire alarms (some drunk blokes at the pub set the alarms off with their cigarette smoke, as i am told by my kind neighbour) from midnight till 4.00 am.No hotel staff cared to explain,reassure and appologise about the fire incident. There was no telephone instrument in my room,my husband from UK had been trying to contact me thro'out my stay in the hotel(7 times) and he was told that they tried connecting his call to my room and that i was not there (which is so untrue, because i did not leave the room as was scared to be unable to get in thro' the doors if i left).I wonder how were they trying to connect when there wasn't a instument.The next morning when i told the receptionist about the missing phone, she was very rude and reluctant to note down my complaint, instead said that i need to find the night staff ( who had already left home) and

The hotel was great. Just what we wanted for this trip

Good location and the reception staff were very friendly. I had breakfast in the hotel and while one of the staff members was very friendly and helpful (foreign national) the other staff appeared to have minimal, if any, training in customer service. As expected, loud music can be heard from the nightclub downstairs, so if you want a good night sleep it is advisable to ask for a room on one of the upper floors but if you are partying then it is an ideal location. Basic but clean and reasonably priced.

Nice rooms, I enjoyed the breakfast, well placed in town, the only problem was noise late in the evening because of the pub in the hotel.

The room was very small and scruffy. The fire alarm went off twice during the night owing to the dicso downstairs and someone fooling about. We booked a wake up call which never arrived. the phone didn't work aND the room was noisy.

Could not sleep until 5:00 am with all the noise from the disco in the hotel. A nightmare. Staff did not seem to care about residents. Never again
