The Jackson Court Hotel is located on Harcourt Street, about a 5-minute walk from Dublin's pedestrianised Grafton Street and St. Stephen's Green.
It really is in the heart of the action with all of the city's daytime and nightime attractions within easy reach. The downside of this is that it can get a bit noisy at night.
Public Transport Links
Train - Connelly Station and Heuston Station are about equal distance from the hotel. There are no direct trams or buses from either station to the hotel, so the quickest way to get there is by taking a taxi.
You could also take a bus to O'Connell Street from either train station and make your way to the hotel from here on foot. From O'Connell Bridge walk away from the river along Westmoreland Street. Cross the street to Trinity College and turn right.
Walk past the entrance to the college at the bottom of Dame Street. Continue on, crossing Nassau Street onto Grafton Street. At the top of Grafton Street pass the St. Stephens Green Shopping Centre and walk straight ahead onto Harcourt Street following the tram lines. You'll see the Jackson Court Hotel on the right hand side.
Bus -Bus Aras is located opposite Connelly Station. See above directions from train stations.
LUAS Tram - The green tram line runs past the hotel - the nearest stop is on Harcourt Street a few metres from the hotel.
How To Get From The Nearest Airport
The closest airport is Dublin International Airport - about 12km away. There are a number of ways to get to the hotel from here.
The private Aircoach (from outside the arrivals hall) service stops on Dawson Street, however it's about a 15-minute walk from here to the hotel. When you get off the bus walk towards St. Stephen's Green, turn right towards Grafton Street and pass Stephen's Green Shopping Centre. Continue along for another couple of minutes and you'll see the entrance to the Jackson Court Hotel.
The least hassle option is probably a taxi but will set you back around EUR40.00-50.00.
How To Get To Dublin's Top Attractions
Well you're not going to be stuck for something to do when you stay at the Jackson Court Hotel. The top sights of Dublin are all handy enough to get to.
If the hustle and bustle of the city centre is getting too much you can always retreat to the peace and quiet of St. Stephen's Green. Take a left from the hotel and keep walking until you see the Dublin's famous green belt on your right - no more than a 5-minute walk.
Attractions on Kildare Street include the National Library of Ireland and Oireachtas House & Leinster House - the Irish Parliament Buildings. From Grafton Street walk along the north side of the green and Kildare Street is the second street on the left. Another attraction on Kildare Street is the National Museum of Ireland (Archaeology & History).
If you fancy a bus tour there are a number to choose from. One of the best tours is the
hop-on-hop-off bus tour. This tour starts and ends at 59 Upper O'Connell Street - the opposite end to O'Connell Bridge. It's a great way to see the sights of Dublin and your ticket is valid for 24 hours.
The National Gallery of Ireland is located on Merrion Square West. From Grafton Street walk along the north side of the green. Continue along passing Dawson Street and Kildare Street. Take the next left onto Upper Merrion Street and the gallery is at the end on the left hand side. You can also get buses 7, 7a, 10, 11 or 13 from O'Connell Street.
The National Museum of Ireland (Natural History) is located on Merrion Street, Dublin 2.
From Grafton Street walk along the north side of St. Stephen's Green, passing Dawson Street and Kildare Street. Take the next left onto Upper Merrion Street. You can also hop on a bus from O'Connell Street - no. 7 or 7a.
A trip to
Dublin Castle is also recommended. It's located on Dame Street and is very easy to get to from Grafton Street. Walk to the end of the street and cross Nassau Street. Continue along towards Trinity College and you'll meet Dame Street. Take a left and walk for about 5-minutes to Dublin Castle - on your left. Another attraction near here is
The Chester Beatty Library, adjacent to the gardens in Dublin Castle.
Sometimes referred to as the most beautiful book in the world, the Book of Kells can be found at Trinity College Library, College Green, Dublin 2. Walk down Grafton Street to the end. Cross Nassau Street and walk towards Trinity College.
Ireland's most visited attraction is probably the
Guinness Storehouse - the home of the 'black stuff'. It's sited at St. James Gate Brewery. It's about a 25-minute walk from Trinity College to here. From the college walk along Dame Street. Continue straight ahead past Christchurch and onto Thomas Street. At the end of Crane Street turn left followed by a right onto Market Street.
You can always catch a bus - no. 123 from O'Connell Street or 51b & 78a from Aston Quay.
For the shopaholics among you, you might be able to pick up a bargain or two in St. Stephen's Green Shopping Centre - a few doors down from the hotel towards Grafton Street.
Grafton Street - a pedestrian zone is about a 1-minute walk from the hotel, you can see it from the entrance to the hotel.
You can also take the tram from outside the hotel to Dundrum Shopping Centre - 8 stops.
