The hotel was fine although my husband & I were on our Honeymoon and we had 3 nights at the hotel. 1 night then we went into the country for 2 nights then back to the Harcourt for another 2 nights and on the 2nd night (Wednesday) we didn't get to sleep to 4am as it was so noisy outside on the street and around the hotel due to the nightclub in the hotel & the club situated on the corner. So on Thursday morning we spoke to reception & asked to be moved to another room which they did as we had to leave the following day at 6am & needed a good nights sleep that night. It was still a bit noisy the next night even from the other side of the hotel, but we did get a better nights sleep. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to ANYONE who wants to be able to sleep during the night!

My opinion is a hotel very expensive (185 e. per person per day without breakfast it,s an abuse) and it could to have good windows it,s impossible you can sleep, so much noises in the street and in the local amenities.....

Overall, the hotel was okay for the money; clean, accessible to downtown area etc. Our one BIG complaint was that the outdoor bar was just a couple doors down from our building (actually a building just behind the actual hotel) and it was extremely loud until about 3 a.m. each night. So we didn't get much sleep and it was quite aggravating. Thank you.

We stayed for only one nite, thankfully, the water was cold so we could not have a bath or shower, there was no heating in the room when we came in at night, bearing in mind that this was new years eve in a very cold dublin, staff done all they could for us but I would be heading elsewhere for a night away

To be honest my experience in Harcourt was the worst I had in any hotel. I boooked a room because I had an exame in university college early in the morning, after I book it I called to warn them that I needed I quite room. In the end I slept 3 hours. The noise in caused by the night club was unberable and it only stoped at 3am even though it's ment to close much earlyer than that. To sum up, infortunatly was the worst hotel I have been. We assume that the minimum that a hotel can provide is a good night of sleep.

Not for the claustophobic! Poor standard of quality. Cheap. Tiny bathroom(cats and swing - i don't think so!) - small lobby with lack of seating - large sparse characterless bar . Springs had gone on bedroom matress( before i slept on it!) Meter on street parking only real option which is a hassle and expensive. Clientele seemed to be mostly folks from US - bad point or good point depends on your outlook.

we weren't informed that there was a nightclub at the hotel and found the noise level unbearable (even though they provided us with ear plugs). This was the first hotel we ever stayed in that had earplugs supplied for guests! The manager was not at all helpful when we complained and asked to be moved to another room. Eventually one of the night staff sorted us out with a different room where the noise was a little less. We received no apologies and found that the price of 300 euro for one night (without breakfast) was way overpriced and extremely bad value for money. To conclude we found the stay very unpleasant and will definitely not be returning in the future. I don't wonder why Ireland has such a bad reputation for ripping off tourists!

this hotel misrepresents itself to international travellers as an Irish inn with music. Its reality is an old, filthy, unserviced hotel staffed by every nationality except Irish, with a raucous cabaret that goes on until dawn in the basement. The front desk staff vary in helpfulness - Joe is very civil, and tried to help us find what we wanted within walking distance. However, at our checking-in about 2:45 pm on July 17th, a young Eastern European woman was particularly officious, rude, and unhelpful. When we reserved our time in Dublin, the internet site advertised this hotel as a bed and breakfast. Breakfast turned out to not be included in our case - we had to pay separately. Our room was very old and unclean - there was an old smear of blood on the uncovered boxspring on one side of the bed. Though it was designated a non-smoking room, the carpets and drapes smelled strongly of smoke and, especially, dirt - it seemed like they had not been appropriately cleaned when the hotel decided to set aside non-smoking rooms. Once in our room, we discovered one of our suitcases, badly bashed around by Ryan Air, had suffered a squashed shampoo bottle that leaked most of its contents through the case. I phoned the desk about 5:20 pm to inquire about laundry, and was told hotel laundry was done for the day, but if we got our things to the desk before noon the next day, we'd have them back by 6 pm. The next day just before 10 am, my husband went to the desk with a bag of things to clean, and was told that laundry had to be given over before 9 am in order to have it returned before the next day - the next day for us was our departure. The launderette to which we were sent was closed, so that left us with a bag of shampoo filled personal effects until we got back to Canada. This hotel is the absolute worst - especially as it sits in mid-range cost and is represented as a quality destination - that we have ever stayed at. Mostly unhelpful and in some cases very rude staff, a filthy room, and no easily used services made for a disappointing and exhausting stay. We hope your agency removes this property from its recommended list. We will return to beautiful Ireland, but probably not to Dublin.

It was a great place to stay! I had read some bad reviews on trip advisor about the 'noise' level at night so I do think that it may be helpful to some if you address that circumstance up front. We didn't go into the bar, but it looked great and we expected to hear noise from people and the music. We did hear the music (but it was GREAT music!) and we didn't hear any noise from people, so we thought the stay was wonderful!

There was considerable noise from the nightclub underneath the hotel and also from other guests returning in from the nightclub. Didn't bother us as we had been out late ourselves, however I would not reccommend this for older couples or families.

There is a good club downstairs where you can spend a great night! Not recommendable if you can't sleep with noise though...

The harcourt is located within 5 mins walk from Stephens Green. The general decor of the hotel is one of the 1970's with the rooms small in size. the Staff are top notch especially within the bar and Accommodation Staff. One of the major draw backs is that part of the hotel is not connected with the repection. For Example on Checking in , one must leave the Hotel and walk down the Street to Check into your room. Overall for the amount you pay the hotel is good value but would not be everyone's choices. Overall it is clean, well run and good value for money.

The noise from the nightclub downstairs was totally unacceptable. When we complained we were told to speak to the manager but surprise surprise the manager was not available.
