Good value for money

We were quite disappointed. On arrival in our room, the the television was hanging off the wall, the remote for the television was broken. When I went to call reception the telephone was broken. All in all the room was very dirty, particularly the lampshades in at either side of the bed. We asked for another room - much the same, although slightly better. We knew there were better rooms, we could see the cleaners cleaning other rooms. I just felt that the gave us the worst rooms as we got a great deal and because we were only staying the one night. We had stayed there a couple of years before and I don't remember having had a negative impression.

Very pleased overall with my two night's accommodation, choice of continental or cooked breakfast fine.

This hotel could possibly rank as the finest we have ever stayed in, the rooms were very comfortable and clean and the friendliness of the staff was unbelivable!! We will back in two years for the rugby and will not be looking for a hotel, we will simply book the Skylon.

Excellent, in fact we have just recommended the Skylon hotel to a couple of friends who are travelling out to Dublin this week.

Really comfortable and enjoyed my staff. The staff were very helpful in giving travel advice. Finding the hotel was a little difficult from the directions given but I understand the local authority will not put up signs.

Very friendly staff, offered options on what to do while in Dublin.

First room assigned to had faults - no problem in accommodating us in another room

The staff were very friendly and helpful. I cannot praise them enough. The only problem was the temperature in the rooms. We could not sleep as it was too warm but when we took our blankets off it was too cold!

We stayed in the executive room but the bathroom door squeaked. Our friends (a couple) stayed in the standard room but the mattress was too soft. In the public toilet on the ground five toilets had no paper!!!

it is a cheap hotel - very close to city centre and to the airport. generally ok.

There was no remote control for the TV when we arrived. I asked one of the girls at reception if she could get someone to put one in the room while we were out for the day. On our return I noticed taht the remote control had not been left in the room. I called down to reception and was advised that they would speak to management but we heard nothing more about it. The hotel itself was quite run-down but to be fair I suppose that was reflected in the price. I also stayed in the Ballsbridge Inn during my time in Dublin and found it to be vastly superior.

The first room we went into was stinking, window wide open, soaking towel on the floor, beds upturned. Rang reception, they were highly unapologetic and begrudingly moved us to another room.

This hotel was perfect... Very nice staff, clean good food... would def recommend it...

Excellent location. Good atmosphere and staff very good. Very important that non refurbished part of the hotel is upgraded as soon as possible as rooms and contents a real turn off.

We were visiting Dublin for a hospital appointment. Staff very considerate and mannerly.

Great location close to airport in a quiet residential neighborhood with easy bus access to the City Center. Charming lobby and restaurant/bar and a light, bright dining room with good breakfast buffet choices. Beds were comfortable, crisp linen, windows opened, large clean bath room.

my first impression was good, however when looked at closely I found the hotel shabby. The toilet seat in my room was cracked, some light switches did not work,the hairdryer did not work. Service in the bar was poor, we went for a drink but the bar man ignored us for 15 minutes so we left without a drink! Reception staff and waiters were good. we bought a voucher for a continential breakfast at reception. the menu stated full continental breakfast including pastries, cheese selection ham, toast and fruit. however the only fruit was prunes, there were no pastries! our 8 euro breakfast ended up as toast and tea!!!!!

The Slylon was just ok. It seemed to be under a little renovations. The room was ok, nothing top class but fine for the price of the stay. I have no major complaints. We enjoyed our stay.

We arrived at 12 noon and went to book in. The receptionist said that there were no rooms ready yet and that booking in time was not until 14.30. We explained that our booking request stated we could book in at 12 o clock and that we had a graduation to attend at 14.45. She sent the housekeeper to see if there was any room ready and she got us a room.The attitude by the receptionist left a lot to be desired. Everything else about the hotel was excellent.

This is a lovely Hotel, very reasonably priced, decent location. Rooms were adequate, breakfast was lovely. The only one complaint was that the heat in the hotel (particularly in the bedrooms) was ridiculous.

It is a definite stop over hotel, budget too. On the way to the airport, up for a show, etc. Not really for a romantic weekend!!! Excellent location for everything I think. We had a daughter graduating from St Pats College next door so it was really fantastically located for that.

The only issue that I had was that there was no parking when I arrived, so I had to park on the street for two days, overal I thought it was fairly good.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff were very professional which made our stay really pleasant.

I was given a room that was in really really bad condition.I was given a second room that was in equally bad condition.Finally the third room I was given was excellent.It was such a shame I had to complain about the first two to eventually get a good one!

Convenient location, easy to drive straight to, coming from the North and then handy for the night out in town. Very handy for back to M1 and back home. good value for the location and the standard, at special rate of 69 euro

The staff were professional and helpful however the cleaning left a lot to be desired.

I was very pleased with the room and the value for money. I was very impressed with the restaraunt opening times. We weren't ready to dine till ten o'clock and the staff were very accomodating to our needs. The room was very clean and comfortable also.

The fire alarms went off at 8.15 a.m. and i got my disabled daughter up to get out, when i opened the door one of the cleaning staff told me there was just someone smoking in a non smoking room. all of the other guests on my floor weree also out on the corridoor. i collected my belongings and left the hotel as i felt they were too blasè about fire etc. when i went to the lift i discovered that the sign warning you not to use the lift in the event of a fire was covered by a painting. I reported at reception about the alarm going off and the girl i was dealing with laughed and said it was probably just someone smoking. i would not feel safe in this hotel in the event of a real fire.
