Public Transport Links:

Bus –

Your best bet for getting to spots in Dublin city (and county)is to head for the airport via the courtesy coach from the hotel. From outside the Arrivals Hall you can pick any number of Dublin Bus services that’ll take you in and around the city of Dublin. You can also grab the blue Aircoach which leaves frequently for Dublin city centre. It’s probably the handiest public transport option - you can get off at O'Connell Street or Grafton Street and it's great for a day's sight seeing or shopping. It costs around EUR.7.00 for a single trip and about EUR.12.00 for a return fare.

How to get From the Nearest Airport:

Well this is going to be a short explanation – as you’ll know by now the Clarion Hotel Dublin Airport is only minutes away from Dublin Airport and runs courtesy buses to and from the airport every half an hour (approximately). Just look out for the bus outside the Arrivals Hall of the airport.

How to Get to Dublin’s Top Attractions:

You’re best bet if you are staying a while at the Clarion Hotel Dublin Airport is to get in and out of town via the Aircoach from the airport, or if you don’t fancy that you can always book a taxi, which will probably set you back around EUR.30.00. If you get off at O’Connell Street you’ll see the recently constructed Spire which stands tall against the Dublin skyline. At the cross roads where the Spire is located you can take a right down Henry Street where you’ll find a number of shops and department stores. O'Connell Street is also where the General Post Office is located.

If you walk down O’Connell Street and across O’Connell Bridge you’ll come to Westmoreland Street which will lead you to the top of Grafton Street, another shopper’s haven. Just opposite you’ll see the Molly Malone Statue, the young fictional fish seller of the famous Dublin song. You’ll also find Trinity College here, where the famous old Celtic script, The Book of Kells can be found. If you walk to the bottom of Grafton Street you’ll find St.Stephen’s Green, a popular parkland and garden in the centre of Dublin.

If you exit St Stephen’s Green on the north side of the park you’ll be on St. Stephen’s Green North, take a left along Kildare Street for the National Museum and the National Library, or continue along St. Stephen’s Green North onto Merrion Row, where you can take a left along Merrion Street Upper for the National History Museum and the National Gallery. This whole area is the Georgian part of Dublin and is very attractive in itself.

Another landmark that’s well worth checking out is the Guinness Storehouse. From O’Connell Street walk down and over O’Connell Bridge, crossing the River Liffey. On your right is Aston Quay, where you can pick up a bus number 78A, 123 or 206 to Thomas Street. From here take a left down Crane Street, walk to the end and on your right is Market Street where the storehouse is located.

Those of you who want to sample the revelry and legendary social scene of Dublin would do well to hit Temple Bar. When you reach Aston Quays from O’Connell Bridge just continue until you see the famous Ha’penny Bridge and take a left down Crown Alley and your right in the thick of it!

Of course being situated out near the airport requires a bit of planning if you want to spend the day in the centre, so you could always visit Swords or Malahide, two very beautiful suburbs with plenty to do. To get to either just hop on bus number 230 which you can pick up from outside the Arrivals Hall.
