Dublin – where to eat, drink & shop:

Dublin is literally saturated with mouth-watering restaurants offering excellent food from all nationalities you can think of, be it domestic Irish dishes or exotic Vietnamese delicacies. Summer seasons get very busy so make sure you book your seats in advance, and if you’re doing things on a budget then keep an eye out for menus offering ‘pub food’ outside certain bars as you’ll get decent grub here at a reasonable price.

Any visit to Dublin should include a visit to Temple Bar – this is the colourful part of the city where its famous social life hits full flow in the evenings and weekends. You’ll find a wealth of bars, nightclubs and restaurants along with a number of pubs playing traditional Irish music, so make sure you get down here to experience the famous Dublin nightlife and its legendary pubs.

Dublin is also a pretty good spot for shopping. The main areas are both pedestrianised and can be found just ten minutes walk apart from each other on opposites sides of the River Liffey, which divides Dublin in two. On the north of the river you’ll find Henry Street, home to Arnotts, Jervis Street Shopping Centre and the Illac Centre. Take a wander down Moore Street and you’ll find an array of stalls selling everything under the sun, and it’s here where Molly Malone, the fictitious fish seller of the famous song was said to ply her trade. Across the water you’ll find Grafton Street, which has a number of excellent shops along with well-known and luxurious Brown Thomas store.
